Sakura Matsuri

The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the United States and is proud to be the grand finale of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.  Performers and vendors travel from all over the country and the world to Washington, DC to share their love of Japanese culture and traditions with the Festival attendees.

Alumni Park Grand Opening

The new park between the Memorial Union and Red Gym hosts a grand opening celebration with music, speakers and samples of small bites from the Union's recently renovated dining spots (and a new Babcock Ice Cream flavor). And, of course, there is the unveiling of the park's many exhibits highlighting alumni stories and Badgers traditions.

Global Engagement Fair

International Education Week 2017 will feature events and initiatives celebrating the diverse communities that make UW-Madison a leader in international learning, scholarship, and engagement, and we hope your group will take this chance to get involved! We are expecting a large turnout for this event and we are confident that it would be a great opportunity for your organization to interact with guests and inform the campus community about opportunities for involvement.

International Dance Party

WISA will be hosting International Dance Party on Friday, November 17!! To promote cultural diversity on campus, we have invited several dance teams and clubs representing various ethnicities and traditions. The event will be held at Gordon Concerto Ballroom (2nd floor of Gordon Dining Hall).

JSA Cultural Celebration

As the semester ends and we head into the heart of winter, we would like to host our final event of the semester; a Cultural Celebration day! We are going to collaborate with KASA, TUSO, HASA, Kasper, Ulssu, Kendo Club, and Anaguma Eisa in this event to promote Asian culture and allow more people to experience all the different cultures. There will be different stalls around the room, with plenty of games, performances in the center, fun activities and most important of all, free food!

National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade

One of DC’s largest spectator events, the energy-filled National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® presented by Events DC runs for 10 blocks along iconic Constitution Avenue. Giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, celebrity entertainers, and performers burst down the Parade route in a grand spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the Festival. From the National Archives to the Washington Monument, spectators are wow-ed by the pageantry and excitement that is the nation’s premier springtime parade.
